Am already convinced, am going Linux as soon as it happens; an sure my friend 'cressy' will see to that. He has and is spreading Kubuntu all over 'the fax.'

Happy Birthday my friend, hope all the 'affirmations' sent your way unfold with 'joy.' Thought of you when I wrote a few thoughts in my blog post earlier drawing attention toward celebrating your 'birth' today. With a rather 'Eastern' musing.

Oh that is great to hear. Mark is doing a great job by promoting Ubuntu. But I found PCLinuxOS and Mandriva equally handy. However, I am using Debian 4.0 on my laptop and Fedora 8 on my desktop machine.

Its great! Dependency on Windows coz of iPod is a bit turbulance but bipolar world is better than unipolar!

Cressy has already switched to Linux, with a KDE desktop running Ubuntu, methinks its called; have intentions of setting up a partition in mine and running both Operating Systems.

I don't know when you tried to use FireFox, the earlier version had some bugs but are now fixed and it has become one of the most successful browser. You know what if you quit your session, next time when you start your PC, firefox will open all the sites you were visiting :-)

Also using Foxmark will allow you to take your bookmarks where ever you go.

Actually, its more about choices and that too at the price you are paying. Microsoft has made a cool product but why should we deprive ourselves from better ones ;-)

Am still fiddling with my mail accounts in Thunderbird, damn Yahoo's Ypops is acting up. Can't concentrate on anything else until I figure out what the hell is going on. Grrrr.

But apart from that, I'm fine; life is good. Am glad to see you're doing 'great. Keep up the good work. Peace.

Thanks for the tips :) Always nice to have alternatives.
Personally , Microsoft has been working well for me . No problems.

I did however install firefox once and things started going wrong so I uninstalled it.

Perhaps you need to be a little more experienced before choosing these alternatives. I just want something reliable that works and that I can trust.

Having said that , always nice to have alternatives. Thanks again :)

Am just about to make the leap, you just may be the kick in the pants I need to jump out of the microsoft window into GNU/Linux.

Have been there before but that's a story of another time. Meanwhile I'll do my best to follow through with your advice, much appreciated, too. Thanks.

Your point regarding hassles in getting battery replacement makes sense to me although I could not figure out what u meant when u say it is expensive. As what I get from ur post, I think you want to point out the cost if I mishandle the service phone. If I mishandle the service phone, why should not Apple recover its cost from me??
Also, HP-iPAQ is equally bad regarding this, if not more.

Anyways, good post and probably a must read for Apple fans like me.
